This is an original M35 helmet with the standard double decal. It is marked EF60 indicating production by Emaillierwerke Fulda. The 60 is the smallest size helmet made and were produced in very small numbers. This example was oversprayed in a weird purple which I carefully removed although some remains where the decal is as I didnt want to ruin that.

U.S. Vietnam Era M1 Helmet

Flag_of_the_United_StatesThis is an M1 helmet from the second production run in 1966. The camouflage helmet cover is dated 1969. If you sniff inside the helmet you can smell hemp. It doesn’t get more authentic than that.

Polizei Parade Helmet

Flag_of_the_NSDAP_(1920–1945).svgThis is the standard lightweight parade helmet used by the German Polizei. It’s been nicknamed the tea strainer because of the air holes on either side. There is something dodgy in the liner. I think that someone has replaced the liner with a weird setup.

Flag_of_the_NSDAP_(1920–1945).svgThis is a first pattern German pith helmet, issued to troops in the Mediterranean theatre. These are tough to find in good condition because they tend to sag if they are not stored correctly. This one is a size 55.

Prussian Private Soldiers Pickelhaube

Posted in Headwear with tags , , , on April 16, 2013 by The Dude

Flag_of_the_German_EmpireHere is a NCO or Private soldiers Pickelhaube from the 16th Prussian Infantry Regiment. The helmet is marked 1896, frequently the last inspection date. It is also marked IR.16 1896 2C I.G. and something like R?6961B. The old guy I bought it from said his uncle had got it after WW1 when he subscribed to a War Bond drive in New York.
