Imperial Japanese Navy Flag

Posted in Flags with tags , , , on December 21, 2016 by The Dude

Flag_of_Japan.svgThe Japanese Army and Navy both used the Rising Sun Flag as their battle flag. The difference between the two uses was that the Navy one was offset from center toward the lanyard while the Army one was centered. This example is the Navy version, size 1.5, as used on launches, cutters and landing craft. I also have a Hinomaru flag here. I have a smallish Jap collection, mostly because my grandfather fought the bastards. I think if I could find a nice farewell flag or a souvenir signed flag I’d be done.

German Vehicle Recognition Flag

Flag_of_the_NSDAP_(1920–1945).svgThis flag is a single sided National Flag, designed to be tied to the roof of German vehicles to allow for recognition from the air and hopefully avoid nazi-on-nazi sexy times. The flag has a grommet in each corner where it would be tied.

Flag_of_the_NSDAP_(1920–1945).svgThis is the standard Hitler Youth fringed banner used on the long fanfare trumpet. I have been looking for a reasonably priced one of these for years now and got this from a guy in Belgium.

Flag_of_the_NSDAP_(1920–1945).svgThis is part of a sapper’s marking set. The Germans used these to mark mines for removal as well as gas warnings.
