This is an original paper transfer used on the head of a Panzerfaust round to provide basic instructions on use in the field. Many users of this weapon were untrained levies of youth and older men, so it was felt that providing these instructions on each individual tube would assist in getting a consistent result from the firing of what could be an alarming (to the user) weapon.

Originally I got this from a bloke in the Former East Germany who claimed it was a barn find. It was missing a lot of parts and was non-functional. After a lot of work and a year later I was able to assemble the missing parts, fabricate the cocking lever that I couldn’t get and get this thing working again. Only 6 in Canada!

If you compare this to the pimped up reproduction I have here you’ll see the difference. I discovered too late that the rear ends of these things were never painted. This one is a franken-round in that I married a head that I already had with a water retrieved tail piece that I found later.
Panzer Faust Klein Round
Posted in Fakes & Replicas, Missiles & Projectiles with tags Ammunition & Fusing, Anti-tank Rounds, Germany (Third Reich), Heer, Recoilless Guns, WW2 on August 14, 2013 by The DudeHere is my latest import, a Panzerfaust Klein round in terrific condition (too terrific, see below). The tube intended to fire this can be seen here. The tube was intended to be fired once and then discarded although at times they were collected and sent back to the factory to be recharged. This is not a rocket launcher, it is a recoilless gun. The projectile is thrust out of the tube using a gunpowder charge and only had a range of about 30m. It didn’t have the punch to destroy heavier armour and was later replaced by the Panzerfaust 30, Panzerfaust 60, Panzerfaust 100 and Panzerschreck.
Upon exploring further it appears that I have added to my reproduction collection inadvertently. This is why I hate Jerry stuff. This one is indeed a repro that has been fiddled with in order to deceive. The originals were never painted on the shaft behind the charge container.
