Deckungszielgerät 43 Restoration

In April 2019 I received a ground dug, but solid Deckungszielgerät 43 from a Russian guy. These things are interesting because they are rare and usually in terrible shape because they just didn’t survive in someones cupboard. They are always water or ground found. It’s my plan to rebuild this thing and document it here for anyone else who comes across one.

First up, there’s bugger all on the internet about these devices. Apparently no-one knows who made them or how many were made, although the common number thrown around is “about 20,000”.
